About Your Piano Teacher
Dawn Popp – Iron Mountain’s Recommended Piano Instructor
Hi, I’m Dawn Popp, a lifelong pianist who loves helping people learn, play, and enjoy the piano. I’ve been playing for more than 40 years, and music has been a part of my life since I was a kid sitting at the piano for the very first time. That early love of music grew into teaching, performing, and eventually caring for the instruments themselves.
For the past 10 years, I’ve also specialized in piano tuning and pitch correction. That work has taught me how every piano has its own voice and personality. I’ve learned how humidity, age, and regular use can change the sound, and how a careful touch can bring it back to life. I tune with a mix of art, science, and a trained ear, making sure each note rings clear and true.
Teaching, though, will always be one of my favorite parts of what I do. I enjoy working with students of all ages, kids just starting out, adults returning to music, and anyone who wants to grow their skills. My lessons are simple, encouraging, and designed to help you feel confident as you learn.
I also perform at weddings and special events, which has helped me understand how music connects deeply with people and moments. All of these experiences, performer, teacher, and tuner, shape the way I help students learn and enjoy the piano.
