Dawn Popp

Piano Tuner & Piano Teacher in Iron Mountain, Michigan
Welcome! I’m Dawn Popp, a lifelong pianist with a passion for bringing pianos to their full, beautiful sound. With over 40 years of experience as a pianist, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for the artistry and precision that each piano requires.

My journey began as a child, learning to play and falling in love with the instrument. This love of music evolved over the years, not only into a career as a piano teacher and performer but also into a dedicated practice of tuning and maintaining these remarkable instruments.

For the past 10 years, I’ve specialized in piano tuning and pitch correction, honing my skills to ensure every note sounds as true and vibrant as possible. I understand the intricate details that can affect a piano’s sound—whether it’s regular wear, changes in humidity, or the effects of time. Each tuning session is a blend of art and science, and I take great care to listen to the nuances of each instrument, fine-tuning them with precision. My aim is always to restore the piano to its optimal tone, allowing musicians to play with confidence and passion.

Beyond tuning, I’ve had the privilege of sharing my musical expertise as a piano teacher, helping students of all ages develop their skills and appreciate the beauty of piano music. I also perform at weddings and various events, bringing an added layer of elegance and emotion to special moments. These experiences have allowed me to understand not only the technical aspects of pianos but also the profound connection they bring to people’s lives.

Whether you’re a professional musician, a hobbyist, or someone who cherishes a family piano, I’m here to ensure that your instrument receives the care it deserves. Thank you for visiting, and I look forward to helping you keep your piano sounding its very best.
